The Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is 27 km (17 miles) east of the city center, near the suburb of Spáta. A large number of European and International carriers fly direct into Athens.The airport has excellent public transit connections to the city and the usual array of food stands, duty-free shops, and other airport services.
From the airport you can reach the city center:
1) By Metro to the city center for €10. There is also a Tourist Ticket valid for 3 days for all public transport including your transfer from and to the airport by metro for €24. Group tickets (2 or 3 persons) are also available and they provide some discount (see By Metro section below in Get Around). The airport Metro line is an extension of Line 3 (blue line) which takes you to the downtown Syntagma and Monastiráki stations and to Egaleo city where the conference’s venue take place. From the Airport, the metro train takes 40 minutes to reach Syntagma, and takes 43 minutes to reach Monastiráki.

2) By bus: There are four express bus routes from and to Athens airport (Route X95: Syntagma - Athens Airport, Route X96: Piraeus - Athens Airport, Route X93: Kifisou avenue - Athens Airport, Route X97: Elliniko - Athens Airport) . All bus routes are available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. Departure point: You can catch the bus from the designated area at the arrivals level (between Exit 4 and Exit 5,

3) By taxi : Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level. A taxi from the airport to the city center (inner ring) costs a flat rate of €35* from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and €50* from midnight to 5:00 a.m. Be sure to ask if the price includes toll costs.
The Aigaleo city (Location of the Conference Venue) is a subusrb of Athens located to the borders with the city of Piraeus.
The M3 line (Blue Line) of Metro leads directly form the Airport to Aigaleo city via Systnagma and Monastiraki stations.
Greek domestic trains are an excellent and a very charming way to travel between Athens,
Larissa, Kalambaka (Meteora) and Thessaloniki. With 10 daily round-trip routes, modern

There are many buses each day from and to other large Greek cities (like Thessaloniki orPatra). The buses that travel within cities in Greece are called KTEL. There are two main KTELstations in the city, KTEL Bus station terminal A
(Kifissos Station)
and KTEL Bus station terminal B
(Liosia Station).
